    The position is responsible for assisting a production lead in the fabrication and/or assembly of a variety of wastewater treatment systems.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    The position is responsible for assisting a production lead in the fabrication and/or assembly of a variety of wastewater treatment filters (Biofilters). The task involves;

    • Following production documentation and drawings
    • Usage of common hand/power tools
    • Building full production models on a weekly schedule
    • Assisting Production Leads or Production Manager on special projects when they arise

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    The position is primarily responsible for the sales of Waterloo Biofilter systems in the Ottawa region, reporting directly to our Sales Leader. This position plays a key role in our Sales team as the Ottawa region is a rapidly growing market for onsite wastewater treatment. Traveling around Ottawa and the surrounding area will be required to meet with customers and guide them on their journey with Waterloo Biofilter.

    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Working directly with customers to manage sales of Waterloo Biofilter systems in Ottawa and the surrounding region.
    • Seeking out engineers, designers, builders, septic installers, and homeowners in need of onsite wastewater treatment solutions.
    • Providing technical support to customers during the installation of their system and effectively diagnosing and troubleshooting technical product problems.
    • Assessing customers’ needs, location, resources, and budgets to provide basic design information, proposals, and quotes for Waterloo Biofilter systems.
    • Managing several customer accounts at once by communicating in person or through phone and email in a timely fashion to ensure premium customer support.
    • Working extensively with the Ontario Building Code Part 8 (a training course will be provided to the candidate).
    • Collaborating with local engineers and designers to specify our products.
    • While Waterloo Biofilter is in Guelph, it is expected the candidate will work mainly on the road, or in their home office, and be able to attend video conference calls to report on their sales and collaborate with the head office.
    • The candidate may require some travel to trade shows in Canada and US.

    Requirements:

    • Past sales experience in a similar industry.
    • Enjoys working with people and has excellent communication skills.
    • Home-based in the Ottawa area.
    • Enjoys talking with customers and being their advocate within Waterloo Biofilter.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong working knowledge and experience in Microsoft based software (specifically Word and Excel).
    • Thrives in a growth-oriented, positive culture that focuses on the customer.
    • Full G License with a clean driving record.
    • Post-secondary degree in business and/or environment sciences preferred.
    • Experience working with wastewater / septic systems preferred.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    The position is primarily responsible for the servicing and optimization of residential and commercial wastewater treatment systems. Technicians have specifically assigned sites, in which they are to take ownership and emphasize treatment performance. Responsibilities include field servicing, sampling, troubleshooting, data analysis, and reporting. Secondary roles will include overseeing site installations, troubleshooting customer inquiries, and responding to alarm calls. Employees must adhere to all internal and external company healthy and safety policies. The technician will act as a company ambassador to continually represent the Waterloo Biofilter brand.

    Requirements:

    • Must have strong organizational skills
    • Must have strong troubleshooting skills
    • Experience with common hand/power tools
    • Ability to interpret and follow production, electrical, and design drawings
    • Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge required
    • Work independently, as well as assisting other technicians on occasion
    • Graduate of Environmental Technician or related program. Wastewater Operator-in-
      Training (OIT) Certification preferred
    • Experience with Ontario Building Code (OBC) and Ministry of Environment
      Conservation and Parks (MECP) regulations is considered an asset
    • Clean Valid Ontario Driver’s License (G designation or greater), with a good driving
      record
    • A willingness to travel throughout Ontario, as travel is required with this position.
      There will also be periodic overnight stays
    • English proficiency – strong verbal and written communication skills are required
    • Available to work forty (40) hours per week
    • Ability to lift seventy (70) pounds
    • Comfortability working outside in all-season environments
    • Experience with ExpandIT, Business Central 365, or Microsoft Applications is

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the SolidWorks-AutoCAD Drafting Technician and Wastewater Treatment System Designer position is primarily responsible to prepare and update component and system drawings using SolidWorks/AutoCAD as well as working on treatment process settings and designs.

    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Design templates for various drawing types.
    • Draft plumbing and component drawings for internal use within our manufacturing environment.
    • Draft external drawings and documentation such as cut sheets and product renderings to aid in the design and installation of our treatment systems.
    • Prepare generic process drawings for use in manuals and marketing material.
    • Prepare custom component and system shop drawings for system installations.
    • Other drawings as assigned.
    • Some time spent in the production warehouse and at system installations is required to become familiar with our components and systems.
    • Calculate system settings including sewage flows, configuration capacities, pump rates, and timers.
    • Prepare system treatment process schematics.
    • Review third-party designs and prepare quotes for our systems.
    • Provide clarification to regulatory and permitting agencies.
    • Prepare project proposals and manage to completion.
    • Work within our ERP software to manage and update projects and contacts.
    • Prepare operation and maintenance manuals.
    • Assist with updating design and installation manuals.

    Requirements:

    • Graduate of College or University from a Science or Technology program.
    • Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
    • Understanding and familiarity with plumbing, piping, manufacturing, and construction.
    • Knowledge of onsite wastewater treatment processes.
    • Understanding soil morphology and hydrogeology.
    • Experience in understanding and interpreting legislation and codes specifically knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) Part 8 and Ontario Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks (MECP) sewage design guidelines is considered an asset.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Applications, specifically Word and Excel.
    • Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with other employees and departments.

    Location & Specifics:

    • Full-time day shift, Monday to Friday.
    • Hybrid work location between remote and our head office in Guelph ON.
    • Travel is sometimes required to attend sites or events.

    • $45,000 to $60,000 dependent on experience.
