Waterloo Biofilter Systems Wins 2017 OOWA Corporate Steward Award, President’s Award

Waterloo Biofilter Systems is pleased to announce being selected as the winner of the Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association (OOWA) 2017 Corporate Steward Award.  This award recognizes a corporate member for leading in environmental programs that provide protection, renewal or education on water resource management with Onsite and Decentralized solutions.  This business has contributed in an exceptional way to the improved standards of practice, better public policy or increased awareness of the value of Decentralized and Onsite Wastewater management in Ontario.  This corporate member leads by example for other companies, cohorts and industry stakeholder of how to give back and consciously consider the environment and our very valued resources.

Bill Muirhead, President of Waterloo Biofilter Systems, was also honored with the President’s Award which is given to an OOWA member whom the President would like to recognize for their individual efforts and achievements.  This individual industry steward has done and achieved something that has especially earned merit and recognition of the President and the association.  OOWA President, Anne Egan M.Sc., P.Eng., chose to award Bill Muirhead ‘because of his efforts to advance the industry forward in a positive way for the benefit of the entire industry, with his open-minded and pragmatic approach.  He is an industry steward and sets a wonderful example for others to follow; our industry could use more people like Bill.”

We are very proud to receive this recognition from OOWA whom we continue to believe plays a vital role in supporting Ontario’s Onsite Wastewater industry through valuable training, education, and advocacy for sound policies across the Province.
